Celebrate the Season

Inspiration

This card uses the traditional Christmas colors of red, green, and gold to send warm season's greetings. The Script Christmas Tree stamp from Heartfelt Creations' Christmas Cheer Collection creates a beautiful card. The tree image is made to coordinate with the Holiday Tree 2010 Shapeabilities Die from Spellbinders, but on this card, I used a Christmas tree die I've had in my stash for a while (one you may have too!) - the Spellbinders' Nested Pine Trees, and I think it worked just fine.

Instructions

TREE

Stamp the script tree with Versamark ink on white paper, and heat emboss with red embossing powder. Stamp the center portion of the tree (Celebrate the Season) again on green paper, and heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Use the Pine Tree die to cut out the red-embossed script tree. Use a sponge to apply green ink around the edges of the tree. Carefully trim the gold embossed sentiment, and glue it across the matching area of the tree.

CARD

Cut a green card measuring 5 1/2" x 8", score at 4 1/4", and fold. Cut a piece of red patterned paper measuring 4" x 5 1/4" using a deckle blade on your rotary trimmer, and use a sponge to apply some red ink to the edges of this mat layer. Adhere this mat to the front of your card.

ASSEMBLY

Mount the tree to the card using foam tape to give it dimension. Punch a snowflake for the top of the tree, and mount it with foam tape, too. Add gold adhesive pearls for sparkle.
