Hearth and Home

Inspiration

In case March is coming in like a lion where you live (it's a lamb here in Texas - LOL!), I thought I should post one last "wintery" card - a warm, cozy fireplace that says Home is Where the Heart Is. These images and die cuts are from last month's release at Heartfelt Creations called the Chateau Gate Collection. Hope it warms your heart!

Instructions

BASE CARD

Cut a piece of light green card stock measuring 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score at 4 1/4" and fold.

MAT

Cut a piece of dark brown card stock with a deckled blade, measuring 4 1/8" x 5 3/8", and mount on the front of the card.

SENTIMENT LAYER

Cut designer paper measuring 4" x 5 1/4". Wrap the hemp cord 3 times around one end. Tie a bow around the upper part of the set of hemp cords. Stamp the sentiment in brown ink in the upper left corner, and mount on the front of the card.

IMAGE

Cut/emboss a piece of dark brown card stock using small window die. Cut out the center doors and bar from the die cut. Stamp the doors on the sand card stock, using brown ink. Cut the doors out using the same die - no need to emboss. Trim off all the flourishes around the doors. Stamp the fireplace on ivory card stock, and color with COPIC markers. I used these colors:

  • FLAMES: Y21, Y35, R24
  • FIREPLACE, GROUT: W2, W4
  • STONES: E35, E37, W3
  • MANTEL: E70, E71
  • CLOTH: BG72, YG63
  • TOOLS: 0.3 Black Multiliner
  • FLOOR: E21
  • LOGS: E70, E71, E77

Mount the brown die cut over the fireplace, and trim off the excess ivory card stock. Mount the doors onto the front of the image, and glue it all to the front of the card.
